Your first day starts with intake paperwork and a walk-through of the schedule, then you meet the case manager who will coordinate your care from here on out. Most days follow a set rhythm: morning check-in, group sessions, individual therapy, meals at fixed times, and evenings that mix skill-building with rest. Knowing the shape of the day helps, especially in the first week when everything feels new.
Phone and visitor rules are not the same across programs. Detox and early residential days usually limit outside contact so you or your loved one can settle in, while later phases open up. Ask your case manager exactly what applies to your program.
Your case manager is your point person. Bring them:
- Questions about medications, appointments, or discharge planning
- Concerns about a roommate, a group, or how you're feeling
- Requests for family calls or sessions
Families stay involved through scheduled calls, family therapy, and updates the client agrees to share. Consent controls what we can tell you, so talk with your loved one early about what they want you to know.
